The CO-MO Trip - Colorado Springs

After Kate and Rochelle left for the airport my friend Julie arrived and picked me up for another adventure. We took off for Boulder and the Celestial Seasonings Factory. We got to wear crazy hair nets and learned more about tea than we really ever needed to know, but the tour was excellent.

I spent 3 days with Julie relaxing and reminiscing about PNG. We took in a movie and saw the sights of Colorado Springs, including the Garden of the Gods. We encountered all sorts of weather: sun, rain, wind, and snow.

CO-MO Trip - Denver

So after Fort Collins I headed to Denver where I caught up with two very close friends from Western Baptist College (now Corban College). We had three days of chatting, walking, eating and shopping. Can you have a better weekend? We laughed, made fun of each other and remembered good times. We visited museums by going through their gift shops, stood by statues, and found chocolate around each corner. We look forward to getting together again this summer along with friends that couldn't make it to Denver.

The CO-MO Trip - Fort Collins

Well I am in Fort Collins, Colorado. I am so thankful for the opportunity to be here. I am visiting my friend Tina and her family (pictures will follow when I get home). This evening I was able to attend Tina's small group (Bible study group). I was so blessed as the folks shared what the Lord rescued them from. One person talked about thinking of all the people that have been touched or ministered to because the Lord saved you. It was encouraging to reflect on God's purpose in rescuing me. Though I can't see the whole picture I can parts of God's plan for my life. I went to share with this group about Papua New Guinea, but I came away very blessed.

Tina and I have had lots of time to talk about old times and what is going on in our lives. I have enjoyed getting to know her 1 and a half year old. She is a precious little girl who has lots of energy. Tomorrow I head to Denver for the weekend to meet up with some other college friends.

Time with the Smiths

What a blessing to be with family! I have been so thankful for the opportunities I have had over the last couple months to be with my family. I got to spend about 5 days with the Smiths over the last two weeks. I had a good time celebrating Carol's birthday (a little late), shopping, reading to Emma and Jake, having Ryan beat me in Phase 10 Dice, watching movies with Carol and Toby and holding little Jessie.

One of the fun things for me was to take the three oldest kids to Target. A totally different experience for someone who is used to going places by herself. We looked at all kinds of things and made some fun purchases. I did get some good natured ribbing since I am not as familiar with Redmond as Ryan is, but we made it just fine. The quote of the day was "I am not lost, just made a wrong turn!"
Mom and Dad came one day and brought a load of things that I forgot in Wenatchee. How spoiled am I. My parents do so much for me. I am very thankful.

Carol, the kids and I took a morning and went to visit our Grandma in Seattle. It was good to see Grandma and I am pretty sure she liked having the kids around for a bit. On our way back to Carol's we stopped at the "bunny park". I am told there are lots of bunnies there but they were in hiding when we stopped by. I don't blame them because it was cold. Anyway, we watched the couple bunnies we could find and then called it a day.
