Weekend with the Girls

Memorial Day weekend was lots of fun and activity here in Wenatchee. My nieces were in town and with them came lots of energy. Emma is 4 days from being 4 and Jessie is 16 months. We had special meals, good visits in the car during long trips, adventures to the park, good play times with cousins, and lots of fun around the house.

My Grandmother is now living with my parents in Wenatchee and so she too enjoyed going on the adventures this weekend, also. My Grandma is such a good sport. It is something else to watch my 94 year old, 79 pound Grandma crawl into the back seat of the Jeep and sit between two large car seats. (She is the only one that will fit back there.) She also entertained Emma for quite a while playing a hide and seek game. They would hide a certain toy for the other to find. The trick here is that my Grandma can't see and is very hard of hearing. They both enjoyed themselves immensely.

I loved making memories with these two little girls and my Grandma. The weekend was full of those moments that I knew I would be thankful for when I return to Papua New Guinea.

Family time

Time is flying by. I can't believe I have just 6 weeks left before I head back to PNG. I am working on getting in as much family time as possible.

This past week I was able to spend 3 days with Carol and her family. It has been fun getting to know the kids again. I feel pretty well connected to Ryan and Jake, never spending as much time with them as I would like, but I feel pretty connected. The younger ones are harder since I am "new" to them each time I come home. So spending some time getting to know Emma has been fun.

Emma, Jessie and I got to have an "adventure" to the park one morning while the boys did school. Then we went on another "adventure" to Costco with Carol. I love making memories with all my nieces and nephews. Something for me to hold on to when I am separated from them for so long.

Girls Weekend

Mom, Carol and I got away for a very special weekend at the beginning of May. The three of us went to Warm Beach Camp for a ladies retreat. Just having those two days all to ourselves was a treat. We enjoyed wonderful messages by Elizabeth George and good food from the camp staff. We also found time to get some shopping in, Carol did the ropes course and we visited. Definitely a weekend I will remember and cherish. Thanks Mama and Carol!
